WHY WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP ???
This website has been
created with meticulous care and consideration
for a diverse Jewish audience. The medium
exemplifies the organisations modern outlook
as the 21st Century approaches.
Nevertheless, the website
is not a mere representation of aesthetics,
or a centre of resource. It goes far beyond
that. Its most fundamental endeavour is
to become aware of your expressions - the
issues that are close to your heart. Betar
- Tagar desires to realise this not just
via this site, but also through a variety
of activities. The modem is one form of
communication, but the occurrence of social
events is an opportunity to meet people
from a wide range of backgrounds, who are
brought together by an imbued advocacy for
Israel.
From the National Headquarters
in London, the UK division co-ordinates
inspirational programmes throughout the
year. Under the astute guidance of its Shaliach,
Shimon Shmila, Betar UK has enjoyed unprecedented
growth. This is in no way an enigma. An
event filled National Weekend in Bournemouth,
last year, set the tone for whetting the
appetites of Betar's membership. A number
of action packed excursions, which catered
for a wide range of interests from music
to Israeli politics met with high acclaim.
Of note, Betar UK was the driving force
behind a global campaign to successfully
remove crosses placed at Auschwitz and restore
the site as a poignant memorial to its murdered
victims. Ultimately, there was Betar UK's
crowning glory, an involved sojourn in Israel
itself. Many participants indicated the
uniqueness of the trip in terms of the group's
international composition and the opportunity
to share in the everyday concerns of Israeli's
living on the rural belt of the country's
North-West. It was quite distinct from the
monotonous nature of other Zionistic groups,
who also converge on Israel, but fail to
provide a fresh perspective of the Jewish
State.
Nevertheless, to
continue with its extensive success Betar
UK is always looking to expand. In the not
too distant future, the organisation is
also aiming to relocate to a more Jewish
environment. This evidently requires substantial
finance and Betar UK would greatly appreciate
any assistance afforded it. By extending
a helping hand to Betar UK, you are providing
a sound basis for future development and
tremendous potential will come to fruition.
